Recently Apple has released iOS 12.4.9 for all older iPhones and iPad models that are not capable of running the latest iOS or iPad OS 14/14.2. In this update, there are many bugs fixes and some improvements in the user interface. Moreover, the most important part of this update is security fixes.
I highly recommend all users who are using iPhone 6 Plus and earlier, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, and iPod touch (6th generation) to update their device. The updated version of iOS and iPadOS is more secure, reliable, with somewhat enhanced performance.
How To Download iOS 12.4.9 On Older Apple Devices
Before you start the installation process of any update on your Apple device, be sure to fully back up all of your data. You can easily back up your iOS or iPad OS device using iCloud services. Moreover, you can use iTunes in the older version of Mac or on Windows. If your Mac device is running Big Sur or Catalina you can use the Finder app to back up your data.
- Open the Settings app on your iOS or iPad OS device.
- Open the General section.
- Scroll down and choose “Software Update”.
- Tap on Download & Install.
When the downloading process completes your device will ask for your permission to install the update. 50% of charging is required to install the update or your device must be connected to a charging source. Once the update is complete the device will reboot to make sure all update is performing up to the mark.
