Bookmarks are the easiest way to access quickly the daily visiting pages. Either these are in the browsers or home screen, you just need to tap once or twice, and there you go. Adding Bookmarks on the Chrome home screen is very easy and most people already know about that. The problem arrives when someone wants to add the bookmark directly on the home screen and many people don’t know how to do it. So, we came with a short guide that lets users add Chrome bookmarks to the iPhone and iPad home screen.
Inspite being the user-friendly browser, Chrome and Firefox users on iOS have to face some certain limitations. Because these are the third party browsers. On the other hand, Safari is fully customizable on iOS because it’s a stock browser. Safari allows you directly to add bookmarks on iPhone or iPad Home screen. Whereas Chrome also lets you do this but indirectly. It is a bit lengthy procedure but not difficult. Let’s begin!
How to add Chrome Bookmarks to iPhone & iPad Homescreen
Step 1: First of all, you need to download the Shortcuts app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Once you installed the app, launch it on your device.
Step 3: Navigate to the “My Shortcuts” section of the app.
Step 4: Tap on the “+” icon located at the top-right corner of your screen.
Step 5: To get started with a new shortcut, tap on “Add Action”.
Step 6: Type “Safari” in the search bar, scroll down to the “Actions” category.
Step 7: Choose the Open Links option in this section.
Step 8: Tap URL on the Safari Card, Type “googlechromes://” followed by the website URL of your Chrome bookmark. For example, if you want to add a shortcut to open IOSFY in Chrome, you’ll need to type “googlechromes://www.iosfy.com”. Once you’re done, tap on the triple-dot icon to continue.
Step 9: First, add a name to your shortcut which is easily recognizable, and then tap on Add to the home screen.
Step 10: Add the icon from the gallery if you want one! then tap on Add to save the changes.
Now head back to the home screen and you will see the Bookmark shortcut among other apps. Now every time to want to visit the Bookmarked page, just need to tap on the shortcut icon on the home screen. You can add as many bookmarks as you want.
That’s all and complete, hopefully, you will understand the procedure easily. By the way, just want to inform you that Apple has released the iOS 14.2 and iPadOS 14.2 Beta 4 for testing. If you want to try that then visit the tutorial on the link inserted in the previous sentence.
